Paul Farrow joined Merlin after nearly 20 years in global financial markets, as either a participant or commentator. Prior to his switch to PR, he was a financial journalist at IFR (International Financing Review), latterly as deputy editor. During his time there (1997-2007) Paul covered emerging market debt, equities, equity-linked, securitisation and structured finance, as well as investment banking as an industry.
Before moving to journalism, Paul had spent eight years in stock broking, working for Swiss Bank in London as an analyst (1988-90), and for two Spanish brokers in Madrid (FG Inversiones Bursatiles and Ahorro Corporacion Financiera) in analysis and sales (1990-1996). Paul has a BA in Modern History from Oxford University (1981-84) and an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of London (1996-98). He is a fluent Spanish speaker.
At Merlin his focus is on financial services, and financial PR for corporate clients.
